Formal Structure

PayCircle is a non-profit organization according to US law, with Siemens, HP, Sun, Oracle and Lucent as founding members. There are three membership classes: full members, associate members and participants. This structure allows for specifically addressing the different interests of the various parties involved, according to their interest in the activities of PayCircle. Membership is open to all interested parties: mobile network operators, application developers, banks, financial service providers and vendors of payment platforms. The board of directors approves membership applications per the terms of the PayCircle organization and bylaws.

Rights and Responsibilities of Individual Members

Full Members:
  • Leadership and Management of PayCircle
  • Voting rights on all matters including election to the Board of Directors and for approval of specifications
  • Membership of the Board of Directors
  • Contribute content and IP to the specification process
  • Participation in all sessions and working groups
  • Active cooperation in defining the API specification
Members:
  • Participation in all sessions and working groups
  • Contribute content and IP to the specification process
  • Active cooperation in defining the API specification
  • Voting rights on proposals of the working group
Participants:
  • Participation in all meetings of PayCircle
  • Access to all documents of PayCircle
  • Review and comment on draft specifications
